This Privacy Policy describes how OverBot ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the OverBot Discord bot ("the Bot") and the website located at overbot.net ("the Website"). By using our services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Bot Data

When you interact with the Bot in a Discord server, we may collect and store:

• Your Discord user ID, used to link your account to Bot features
• Discord server IDs and channel IDs where the Bot is active, used to deliver features such as Newsboard
• Overwatch profile information you provide (platform, username, skill ratings), sourced from publicly available data
• Command usage data (which commands are run and how often), used for analytics and service improvement

Some data is only stored when you explicitly trigger specific commands (e.g., linking a profile).

Premium Data

If you subscribe to OverBot Premium, we additionally store:

• Your premium subscription status, managed through Discord
• Configuration preferences (e.g., custom accent color, followed teams, newsboard channel)

We do not process or store payment information. All payments are handled entirely by Discord through their App Subscriptions system.

Website Data

The Website does not use third-party analytics. We do not track your browsing activity on overbot.net. However, if you log in to the web dashboard via Discord OAuth, the following applies:

• A session cookie is set to maintain your authenticated session
• We retrieve your Discord user ID, username, display name, avatar, and premium status from Discord's API to display your dashboard
• The dashboard page you were on is kept in your browser's session storage while you log in, so you return to it afterwards; it is removed once you are back and is not sent to our servers

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the Bot's features (stats lookup, profile linking, LFG, esports tracking, trivia, etc.)
• To provide the web dashboard for managing profiles, viewing statistics, and customizing settings
• To deliver Premium features to subscribers
• To generate aggregate, anonymized usage statistics displayed on the Website (e.g., total commands run, server count)
• To improve and maintain the service

Third-Party Services

OverBot integrates with the following third-party services to provide its features:

• Discord: for bot functionality, authentication, and subscription management
• OverFast API: to retrieve publicly available Overwatch player statistics
• Battle.net (Blizzard Entertainment): for OAuth-based profile verification when linking your Overwatch account
• FACEIT: to retrieve competitive Overwatch statistics (Premium feature)

When you use commands that query these services, relevant data (such as your battletag or platform) is sent to them. These services have their own privacy policies that govern how they handle your data.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is actively using the Bot. If you wish to have your data deleted, you can:

• Use the Bot's built-in commands to unlink your profiles and remove your stored preferences
• Contact us via our Discord support server to request a full deletion of all data associated with your Discord user ID

When a server removes the Bot, all server-specific configuration data (e.g., newsboard channel) is deleted automatically.

Data Access

Access to stored data is restricted to the OverBot developer. Data is stored in a secured database and is not publicly accessible.

Children's Privacy

OverBot is not intended for users under the age of 13, consistent with Discord's own Terms of Service. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
